I feel like summer has just gotten started, but if you pull out your calendar you will notice that we are only 6 weeks away from a new school year! Here at WonderHere we have been enjoying our summer learning camps and have met some of the most innovative and inspiring young people full of energy and a love for learning! We are more excited than ever to open our doors for our fall semester of students both during the school day as well as after school hours participating in a wide variety of classes ranging from core academics all the way to dance, theater, Spanish, and even COOKING class (reflective of our first camp – Chopped Jr. – that filled this summer!).
WonderHere is a studio unlike anything Lakeland has ever seen, and this summer has solidified in us something we already believed. There is a huge need for a location where kids can be creative, be given space to think outside of the box, encounter learning nose-to-nose with their personal interests and abilities. This building located on 111 S. Florida Avenue here in our beautiful Lakeland community is ready to receive our first round of members enrolling into classes that are sure to revolutionize the way you do school and how your children view school. Beyond the Books
Are you HOMESCHOOLING but are interested in a safe, enriching environment to drop your child off one, two, or even three times a week for academics AND electives? Well WonderHere has the solution for that!
WonderHere provides high quality academic and elective courses for students being homeschooled in Polk County. We believe that quality education should be made accessible to all students and are excited to be an option for parents electing to exercise their right to their preferred school choice… home education. There is so much freedom and room for academic achievement and growth under the unrestricted homeschool umbrella. WonderHere wants to support the good things happening at home and add to the already strong and well balanced curricula and co-op/homeschool communities our Lakelanders are connected with. When considering partnering with WonderHere for the 2016-2017 school year, you will be able to select three hour AM or PM sessions. Once that decision is made, you are able to decide on the day(s) you would like your child to participate in our learning sessions. All of our classes have a capacity of 12 students. This decision was designed to ensure that each child’s experience at WonderHere would be intentional, impactful, and personal. Tuesdays both the AM and PM sessions will engage in Reading, Math, and an elective course. Wednesdays all students will participate in Science, Social Studies and an elective. Thursday’s students will participate in Creative Writing, a PE/Play class, and an elective. All electives will be selected during Open House. Fall classes begin August 15th. After registering for the semester, a school supply list will be sent with an necessary paperwork shortly after.

Independent Studies
TIRED OF TRADITIONAL SCHOOL? Learn more about partnering with WonderHere to provide your child the most personalized and intricate learning experience available for just $320/month!
Independent Study is a unique program where parents partner with certified teachers to have each child be at the center of their own education while working under the homeschool umbrella. With parents in the driver’s seat of their child’s education, students experience freedom and space to think and create and learn based on their own interests, abilities, and creativity. Students enrolled into this program will attend learning sessions 8:00 AM- 11:00 PM Tuesday-Thursday with their peers, have lunch & free play from 11:00-12:00 PM, and then work with their personal tutors in small groups of 2-3 students for an additional three hours. On Friday, the studio is reserved from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM for our Independent Study students. These students will work in small groups, individually, and 1:1 with their tutor to strengthen academic areas of personal weakness and explore topics through research and science experiments.

Artsy After the Bell
Are you saying to yourself, Why are dance classes so expensive? or I wish my child could participate in a book club or a cooking club or SOMETHING that would challenge them and they could still have FUN! WELL LOOK NO FURTHER!
Artsy After the Bell sessions are held during the studio hours of 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and provide your child with the creative and critical thinking elements designed to expand their interests and enrich their intellect. All of our Artsy After the Bell classes are $35/month (for 1 hour a week of class) and reach capacity at 12 students to ensure the experience is personalized and time is optimized! You can sign up for cooking classes, dance classes, book clubs, and S.T.E.M classes with Bricks for Kids (our favorite local Lego company)!
