Do you enjoy a warm cup of tea on a cool evening at home? Well, for the colonists of the 18th century, that cup of tea is so much more than just a tasty, warm beverage. Tea is a symbol of injustice and resistance and the symbolic “straw that broke the camel’s back”, paving the way to the inevitable American Revolutionary War. Children will engage in read-alouds, games, role-play, group discussions, and crafts as we take a closer look at “The Boston Tea Party” of 1773 and its historical significance.

Week 1: The Colonist’s Life

Week 2: Townshend Acts & The Tea Act of 1773

Week 3: December 16th, 1773 Study & Role Play

Week 4: STEM Challenge: Design & Create a Water-Proof Tea Crate

Week 5: The American Revolution Study & Role Play

Week 6:  Historical Legacy & Tea Party

Ages: 5-7

Days & Times: Tuesdays, 12:30 pm – 2 pm
